NEW MILFORD -- After praying to God that he would reveal Jesus to her, Leticia Pierpaoli discovered what she said was the image of his face on her bedroom door. When she first saw it, she thought it looked more like a tree in a dream she had, a dream in which she and Jesus were praying together, but she could not see his face. That's when Pierpaoli, 50, wondered what his face might look like. She was laying in bed one morning and saw an eye in the wood grain of a closet door in her bedroom. When she realized there was an entire face there, she thought it might be Jesus, she said. On a closet door in another bedroom, Pierpaoli saw an image of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. "If it's you, give me a sign," she prayed. The same day, Pierpaoli, a custodian in the Washington school district, was cleaning chalkboards. On one of them someone had written "Jesus" and drew a smiley face next to it, she said. Later that day, while cleaning a science classroom, she saw a list of teachers who had experiments scheduled the next day. One of the teachers listed was "Christ T," she said. This was enough confirmation for Pierpaoli. "I didn't tell anybody, because you know how it is. They would think I'm crazy or hallucinating," she said. She decided to show the images at home to her husband, John, 57, who installs hardwood floors and has seen "hundreds of thousands of feet of wood." At first he was skeptical, he said, but when he saw one of the images he, too, was convinced it was Jesus. "It's pretty obvious if you look at it -- the eyes, the nose, the mouth," John Pierpaoli said. "You never see anything like that on wood." But not everyone sees the likeness in the wood grain. Leticia's friend Milda Piper, 51, of New Milford, is not convinced. Piper, who has known Leticia about 14 years, believes her friend is a nice and honest person, but "right now I don't believe the door," Piper said. "I don't see it." Seeing images on objects has never been discussed at her church, St. Francis Xavier in New Milford, she said. Don Graf, 49, of Bethlehem, has worked with Leticia for about 11 years and has looked at pictures of the door. He said he believes God has given her the gift of being able to see things other people may not see. "Certain people are chosen for whatever reasons," Graf said. John Pierpaoli said he and his wife attend St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. The Rev. Michael Dogali there said he had "no comment" about the images the Pierpaolis see in the doors. Brian Wallace, a spokesperson for the Diocese of Bridgeport, said the church does not usually comment on people's personal experiences, such as this one. "We respect people's personal faith," Wallace said. However, if someone did see an image and had questions, Wallace recommended that person speak with his or her pastor. Richard Cullen, Joint Managing Director for The Jelly Bean Factory in Dublin, who is yet to see the bean said: "This sounds truly incredible, I would have to see the bean myself to believe it. "All of our beans are handmade and this looks like one of our red speckled Mango beans, the natural speckles are unique to each and every jelly bean due to the handmade process."
Wesley Hosie, 25, found the yellow and red sweet by chance as he and his girlfriend tucked into a 700g jar from The Jelly Bean Factory.
The trainee accountant said the moment he opened the pot, he was struck by the red pattern on its surface, illustrating Prince William's bride-to-be's strong facial features, long hair and smile.
Mr Hosie and girlfriend Jessica White, 24, from Taunton, Somerset, kept the mango-flavoured bean and now plan to sell it on eBay for 500.
Mr Hosie said: "As Jessica opened the jar, I saw her immediately. She was literally lying there staring back at me.
"Given that the royal wedding is only a few weeks away, we hope to make a few pounds out of it by selling it on the internet to a collector."

Just in time for Easter, a Yucca Valley, California woman says she's captured the image of Jesus in one of her photographs.
Liz Bullock says she was out taking pictures of the terrain of the high desert in California. She snapped some shots of a two-toned poppy. When she got home and downloaded her shots, she noticed a dark spot nestled in the petals. On closer examination, she noticed that the spot looked to her like an image of Jesus.
This has happened to Bullock before. Three years ago, she was trying to capture a sunrise in the high desert, and she heard a noise behind her. She turned around and saw a cholla cactus in the shape of a cross with a crescent moon hanging from one of its branches.
As for the poppy pedal with what could be a holy image, Bullock said she's preserving it for anyone to see for years to come.

Shortland Street has been hailed as New Zealand's most popular soap for many years, but now there's something else being hailed at the Shortland Street studios.
Staff at South Pacific Pictures in West Auckland where the TV2 show is filmed, are gathering in awe around a coffee mug in which they say an apparition of the Virgin Mary has appeared.
Breakfast reporter Alison Pugh visited Shortland Street yesterday and was shown the mug for her opinion and told Breakfast this morning she was convinced.
"They're really buzzing out there," she said. "It blows your mind!"
Shortland Street's storyliners were sitting around talking about scripts when one of the women noticed the image at the bottom of her cup.
"She yelled out to everyone and they all had a look and all agreed it does look like the Virgin Mary," Pugh said.
Breakfast's Corin Dann was a disbeliever though - he said it didn't look anything like the Madonna.
But Damon Andrews, one of the Shortland St storyliners, told Breakfast that disbelievers have to see it first.
"Everyone has reacted the same really. People come in disbelieving - they walk over and have a look and then they are like 'oh my god, it really does look like her'," Andrews said.He said he can 100 percent verify that the Virgin is authentic.
Pugh told Breakfast she thought the story would go "global"
"Remember the toast with the virgin," she said. "That went for $28,000."
If there was a slight pall over the proceedings, apart from the weather, it was that a week prior to the festival as part of its regular maintenance, pruners from the parks department had chopped down an important branch from a tree in the middle of the park.
Unbeknownst to them, it was no ordinary tree. This London plane tree was known to some locals as the “Jesus tree.” In chopping off this particular branch, the department took off what to some eyes by certain light when it floods in from the northeast revealed an image of Jesus on the cross.
Now Jesus’s right arm was gone.
“Some people are upset, especially in Easter season,” said Conforti. She said that over the years people have come by to place candles by the tree, and many local neighbors have directed visitors to this particular tree for votive purposes.
On the other hand, she added, as a personal note and as someone of Sicilian heritage from Brooklyn, N.Y.: “If it really is the Jesus tree, the branch will grow back.”

Face of Jesus appears on log
The face of Jesus has been very busy, appearing on chicken feathers, a tea towel and a drainpipe among many other places – and it's come to light that it's also turned up on the end of a wooden log.
Wood you believe it? Mel Robertson's log contains the face of Jesus (Picture: Mel Robertson)
The log's owner, Mel Robertson, calls it the 'holy log' and says that she keeps it as a 'lucky charm'.
However, she admits that it 'hasn't brought any luck yet', but is hopeful that one day it will.
Fingers crossed, Mrs Robertson.
The mum of two from Solihull told Metro.co.uk that the face first appeared back in October 2009, but got clearer and clearer as the months went by.
She said: 'We had some firewood by the fireplace – at first it looked like a skull and crossbones – but as the months wore on, it just appeared around the knot in the wood. It was a dark mark and the sap made the face of Jesus – it came up more and more.'
Mrs Robertson says the log actually helps to cheer her up and her two kids love it. 'They think it's hilarious,' she said.
The local vicar, who's seen a photo of it, is just as tickled. 'He thinks it's hilarious, too,' said Mrs Robertson, 41.
She added: 'I'm not sure it's a sign – but I thought it would have faded by now.'
What's your reaction to the holy log? Are you moved or amused? Leave your comments below.
Jesus seen in chicken's feathers
Jesus, not content with just appearing in Marmite, a frying pan and a drain pipe, has now apparently been seen in a chicken's feathers.
If you squint, tilt your head to one side, and stand rougly 3ft away, you can make out the face of Jesus in Gloria's feathers. Sort of.
Owner Mitchell Grainger, 25, spotted the face of Christ in a photo of his pet chicken having a dust bath.
Grainger told Halesowen News: 'I literally said ‘Jesus Christ’ when I saw the picture. The face of Jesus is clear to see and when I showed my mom she even pointed out the ring of thorns.'
Gloria, of Rowley Regis, West Midlands, obviously has someone watching over her, after miraculously escaping a vicious fox attack.
'It is strange that it would appear on Gloria because not long ago she was the only chicken out of 20 that wasn’t killed by a fox. She was standing on the step when he came and miraculously wasn’t touched' Grainger added.
'That's why we called her Gloria, after Gloria Gaynor’s song I Will Survive.'
Why did the chicken cross the road? The 50ft rooster carved by nature that's ruffling motorists' feathers
By Eddie Wrenn
Every motorist knows the occasional risk caused by animals crossing the road.
Be it cows escaping their fields, foxes on a midnight prowl, rabbits frozen in the headlights or a mother goose leading her brood to the river, drivers try to stay prepared for any wildlife that may stray across the highway.
But a 50ft rooster?
Bird crossing: The giant rooster - carved by nature - causes motorists to double-take as they drive through Cambridgeshire
The amazing cockerel-shaped tree has been causing commuters to do a double-take as it struts at the side of the busy road.
With its perfect plumage and beak the 50ft bird standing to attention outside the Cambridgeshire village of Milton looks like it has been perfectly pruned, but the bird has simply been sculpted by the sun and wind.
Motorist Rachel Jones, 24, said: 'It was quite a surprise when I drove round the corner and saw a huge cockerel in front of me.
'It really made me laugh. I can't believe it has just been formed naturally, it looks like someone has spent hours making it.'
Kevin Adams, 30, added: 'I've heard of the chicken that crosses the road, but didn't imagine I would actually see one on my way to work.'
The natural phenomenon has surprised tree experts.
'It looks just like a cockerel, but in fact it's just a hedgerow tree that has been so smothered in ivy that it has formed that shape,' said Bob Widd, an arboriculturalist with Global Tree Solutions in Offord Cluny, Cambs.
'Trees can grow in all shapes and sizes it just depends on the soil and their habitat and how they are affected by the wind and the sun.
'You see lots of oddly shaped trees in my job. I've seen one that looks like an elephant and a lot of old elm trees can look like they have faces in their trunks.'

Fairmont Church Will Leave Interesting Image Untouched
StaffFairmont ![]() |
The work started at First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont back in February. A leaking roof had caused plaster damage in some areas of the ceiling and a new paint job was in order.
Rev. Bill Sadler says on Monday, as the work was wrapping up, the contractor took a last look at the ceiling above the balcony and noticed an area he'd missed.
"He went up on a ladder and plastered an area where there was a crack in the plaster, skimmed it over. He came down. And when he got down to the floor, his workmen said 'Do you see Christ up there?'"
Sadler's secretary called him at home while he was eating lunch and told him to get back to the church. He says as soon as he looked up at the ceiling, there was no doubt what he was seeing.
"There's no question in my mind that I'm looking at an image that reminds me of Jesus."
And not just one image but two.
"There's a silhouette image that is obviously a bearded man looking to the side and up. And in that image there's also another image which reminds me of the pictures I've seen of the Shroud of Turin."
Sadler says even from high above, the image grabs your attention.
"This is a face looking down at the congregation below, so to speak,” Sadler said. “And it has that effect, if you walk across the front of the sanctuary, the eyes seem to follow you."
Sadler says he's "amazed" by the images on the sanctuary's ceiling. He's not calling it a miracle or a sign but rather a reminder.
"I do think it's an indication that we don't always see everything that's going on and that God is present in the work that we're doing here, that this church has a ministry to do,” he said.
The restoration of the sanctuary will be complete by the end of the work week. But Sadler says they plan to leave the images on the ceiling untouched for now.
